Job Overview
A skilled technician is able to use a variety of hand tools and power tools. The technician should have experience in the construction industry and/or trade work, demolition and installation. Skilled trim carpenters, electrical and plumbing experience is a benefit.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials per regulations.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not is use and securing the job site daily.
- Load and unload construction materials manually and with the use of equipment.
- Must be able to take directions from project manager and superintendent.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately.
- Report incidents immediately to Superintendent, Project Manager or HR in accordance with incident reporting procedures established by the company.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma/GED required
- Knowledge of standardized work routines and procedures used in the construction, maintenance, upkeep and repair.
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of an organization internally and externally.
- Knowledge of tools used in construction work.
- Knowledge of applicable safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to operate simple equipment and machines.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor under adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move supplies and materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning labels and symbols identifying hazardous materials.
- Ability to operate vehicles.
- Ability to perform manual labor.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Requirements
- Supply basic construction tools (hand tools, drills, tool belt, etc.)
- Supply your own transportation and go to multiple locations on occasion.
